Comments:

One of the new trendy places in Princeton for dining, Big Fish doesn't take reservations, and surprisingly, it's located in a mall. Dan and I arrived a little bit before our dining companions and decided to grab a beer and a table in the very busy bar while we waited to be seated. While waiting, we ordered an appetizer of fried calamari. Our dining companions arrived and we snacked on the calamari. It was good but was served with a flavored mayo instead of a marinara sauce. The sauce wasn't quite what I expected but I did enjoy the calamari.

Having reviewed the menu on the website the day before, I already knew what I wanted to have for dinner when we finally did get seated. I had the Sizzling Savannah Rainbow Trout. The fish had was covered with a citrus green salad, and when I finally found the fish hiding under the salad, it was coated with pecans and a Creole mustard glaze. I would not recommend this dish because the bones were left in the fish and because it was covered with so many things, you couldn't always see the bones which made it a little difficult to eat. Also, I didn't like the taste of the mustard glaze. Dan dined on one of the daily specials: Black and White Yellow Fin Tuna. It had black sesame seeds on one side and white sesame seeds on the other. The fish was good, but the potatoes that came with the dish weren't. Lisa had the crab cakes but only thought they were so-so and needed more flavor. Her fiance, Kelly had the Cedar Planked Salmon. He cleaned his plate. Need I say more?

Big Fish doesn't have a good dessert menu. Kelly had the key lime pie and I had the chocolate cake. He liked the pie and I really loved the chocolate cake. It was soooo good.

Special Note: Kelly had the Asian Peanut Dressing with his salad. This was wonderful.

Our server Samantha must have been having a bad night because she forgot to bring us things and we had to ask for them more than once. The restaurant had a nice decor and while it is cigar friendly, there isn't good ventilation for the smoke.
