Sad news, Downtown Deluxe is closed.
Meal Eaten: Breakfast/Brunch Lunch Dinner
Comments:
Meals come with two sides and cornbread. Choosing the sides can sometimes be difficult because everything sounds so good. The fried catfish and collard greens were wonderful. Dan tried a grilled cheese sandwich and hash browns, but what can you say about a grilled cheese sandwich?
This place was recommended to Michelle by a co-worker and we're glad we went. Downtown Deluxe is a real hole in the wall. You wouldn't know it was there unless you were looking for it. It's a small place with only about five tables for seating. The restaurant is owned and run by a man named George who does everything. There is an open kitchen and you can watch your meal being prepared from start to finish. The smells of the food only make your mouth water as you watch George mash your potatoes or clean your fish before your eyes because you know your getting fresh food not something that's been sitting around under a light.
