City Business Administrator Threatens Civic Activist
Letter to the Trenton Times Editor by Dan Dodson
The news is out that Trenton Assistant Business Administrator Dennis Gonzalez is threatening to sue local civic activist Zac Chester because Mr. Chester questioned his and the administration’s effectiveness in stimulating the city’s economic development. It’s likely the sign of an administration that’s not only ineffective, but is also, after 17 years, becoming tired and frustrated.
It’s a bizarre world where public officials threaten the very best citizens of a community. Zac is one of Trenton’s best people: active, educated, involved and a recognized leader in the community.
So, Mr. Gonzalez, as you’re well aware, I too question the pace and efficacy of economic development in Trenton. Therefore, feel free to sue me as well. On the right to question my government, I’m standing with Zac Chester. In fact, I’m sure there’s a long line of Trentonians who have similar questions for you and their city government. That’s 86,000 lawsuits you should be ready to file.
