Camping in Western PA

Michelle and I went camping at Ohiopyle state park in Western Pennsylvania about 120 miles southeast of Pittsburgh . It was April 2000 and pretty cold. Cold would have been OK except for the rain. It was nice though, no crowds. Ohiopyle is a perfect place for white water rafters and is just a couple of miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's famous house designed for the Kaufman's, Falling Water.

This is camp, complete with tarps and slightly soggy tent.

This is a well layed out campsite.

This is the Little Mississippi. We rerouted it after discovering that it was running through our tent in the middle of the night.

It is good for a man to go camping with his truck, build a fire, have a drink and read a book.

It's been a lifelong ambition to tour Falling Water. The misty weather made it perfect.

Our hike in the woods got a bit rough as the trail sort of went away.
